  • CWBRN status "awaiting reply" - what that does that mean?

Something from me, or vendors with plugins part of report?
Something else?
I never heard anything - if they needed more info or something?

Are there explanations for status on these?
Other is "Investigating" - don't know what that means either.
I looked at one that was fixed in Dorchester, and it still says "investigating".

No wonder if Cake run into backlogs if reports are not removed from agenda.

Thanks.

Most likely the report was collected and when handed off to tech support somebody said "I'll have a look and get back to you." So now those that update the files are "awaiting a reply" from those checking it out.

I'm completely serious, that's how I would interpret the comment.

Look at the ticket again on the web. You will observe an explaination. Yup I know...

Thanks.

"Your reports current status of Awaiting Reply allows or requires additional information from you to help us troubleshoot your problem further."

"Your reports current status of New allows or requires additional information from you to help us troubleshoot your problem further."

So "New" and "Awaiting reply" have the same text.
Allows or requires - but does not say what in either case.

So maybe like you say, people working with reports forward to devs or other tier personal and wait to hear what they say. There is a status "as designed" or similar that might be result, or "under investigation" if taking it further.

Just guessing and hope they provide a comment if anything unclear.

'Your reports current status of Awaiting Reply allows or requires additional information FROM YOU to help us troubleshoot your problem further."

The explanation could not be any clearer. They want information FROM YOU.

However I have queried about this in these very forums way back (asking what they wanted) and Cakewalk said it was them who were getting more info.

So the confusion still hasn't been sorted out ..

I had a report with the status of "Awaiting reply" and called tech support, since I wasn't aware of anything they might be looking for from me. I was told that in that case, the reply being "awaited" was from CW. I agree it can be confusing. I wish they would say "Awaiting reply from submitter" or "Awaiting reply from Cakewalk" or word that some other way altogether.

It means they may want more info from you...

'Allows' - You can give more info if you want to, but we don't necessarily need it.
'Requires' - We won't progress further until you've given us more info.

It's not really that helpful.

Much obliged, thank you, Susan.
I suppose, a requirement from Cake towards report issuer would come with a comment field as well.
We can supply info in severtal posts, guess they can too.

What talks against "requires" that is that that text is the same, the very moment you filed your report to Cake.
In that moment nobody saw it yet - and raising status to "awaiting reply" is probably internal communication going on.

I can lean back and not worry about it, I think.
Appreciate your thoughts on the subject.

Not helpful?
That's an understatement. Unless they bloody tell you what they want on that 'require more info' status then it's of no use whatsoever!!! ;) Maybe hire a medium :).
