Hi, I hope I am posting in the correct place.  I can no longer find my Lexicon reverb or my Vintage pro channel.  I used to be able to select insert audio effect and they were available.  I am using Sonar X3.  If I open old projects they are still in the channels where I had inserted them, but still not available to insert new.

Any help is much appreciated!
Thanks

Some plug-ins are discontinued over time. To get them on a new machine running the most recent version of SONAR use the advanced install option of a version of SONAR which included the plug-ins. The Lexicon Pantheon was last bundled with SONAR 8.5. The VC-64 was last bundled with X2.

I had the same problem until someone brought to my attention I could get the Lexicon off my 8.5 installation program.  I bought the Sonnox Reverb plugin about a year ago (and spent $200) but find myself going to the Lexicon that was bundled with 8.5 more.

For that reason and True Pianos I install a bare bones version of 8.5. But I am told it is best you do this before you install X3. Sonar should be installed starting with the oldest to the newest.
Do a custom install and uncheck all but what you want. Most are still included in X3 Studio and Producer. You say X3 so I assume it's the basic version.
Anyhow I printed off the list from the Sonar Versions Page

Thanks for the feedback.  I have to admit, I am lost in X3.  With 8.5, I seemed to know where things where and how to use them.  I will try to do an advanced installation to make the Lexicon available again.  I  don't think I ever had Sonar x2, as I went directly to X3.

Perhaps I should just try to use the reverbs and Vintage channels that are now available in X3.  - I assume they would be better.  What is a good substitute for the Lexicon Pantheon, and the Vintage Channel?

I am also having serious latency problems with recording.  I really can't use the monitor as it is so far behind.  Perhaps this should be a different post.

Thanks

Sonar 8.5 was installed first and is still on my system.

A lot of us still use Lexicon. They wrote the book on digital reverbs. I just bought the MX200 Hardware version and it's sort of sounds a little better than the Pantheon but darn hard to tell. I bought it on sale to use for live but it can also be used as a hardware VST using USB cable.  It is $200.

So if you still have 8.5 installed you don't need to re install it. Just go to the plug in manager in X3 and make sure the 8.5  plug in folder is included in your scan. You can add any folders to the scan path.

hey man, like I said, I paid a pretty good little chunk for the Sonnox and STILL prefer the Lexicon in many situations. I almost never use Breverb (bundled with X3) or the other one... can't think of it now.  In fact I don't like Breverb (find it's too 'bright' in most cases).  Now that could be that I just haven't dug into it much.  Bottom line is don't believe everything you think when it comes to plugins.

Usually newer versions will pick up older version plug-ins unless they are installed in non-default locations or the old SONAR version was 32bit and the new version is 64bit. Also after installing X3 make sure to update it to X3e http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013361/SONAR-X3e-Update and reset and rescan the plug-ins http://www.cakewalk.com/Support/Knowledge-Base/2007013315/SONAR-X3-Full-VST-Rescan-Recommended-for-Upgraders

If I were guessing, the 8.5 is 32bit and the X3 is 64bit but would rather have confirmation before suggesting solutions.
