I just my new computer up and running as my old systems was giving me fits with dropouts, stopping, and crashing.  I tried everything from the help I got here in the forum.  Finally I gave up.

New computer is an Intel 5930 I7 6 Core, with 1TB SSHD. I installed the other three hard drives from my old system into the new system.   I will add the new specs under my profile as soon as I can figure out how to do that.  So far everything is going pretty well with the new installation of Sonar x3 Pro.

However, I noticed I am missing some old plugins i.e. Lexicon Pantheon, and I assume others that were install from Sonar 8.5 and earlier too.  Is there a way to get those old plugins on this new machine or do I have to first install earlier versions of Sonar.

Thanks

Try this: search your computer for files Pantheon.chm and Pantheon.dll and put copies in C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Shared Plugins.

If you have any disks from S7 or earlier then you can do a custom install (f/x only) from them.  Otherwise, the Breverb plug-in from X3 will do a fine job for you, and you may even like it better.

Advanced installs of older versions is the best solution. Copying old plug-ins may work but in the case of DirectX plug-ins such as the Lexicon Pantheon, copying them is not enough. The copy process will not copy over presets and the plug-ins will still need to added to the registry with regsvr32.

here is a similar thread with plug-in details back to 8.0 http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3215392

I recently did this exactly. Grabbed pantheon off my sonar 7pe disk and was easily able to install it only and works fine in sonar plat.... Even though only 32 bit. I liked it a lot and missed it too. Grabbed the V C64 at the same time too

The Lexicon Pantheon has to be 64bit to work on 64bit SONAR, it is a DirectX plug-in. There is a 32bit and 64bit version of the plug-in bundled with SONAR. IIRC, the surround version was 32bit only but was dropped from SONAR when the 32/64bit version of the plug-in was added.

The VC-64 is a 32bit VST.

They both work in my 64 bit splat. Did nothing extra- just installed. Seemed I only saw 32 bit option on my 7pe disk. Maybe 64 bit in 8 or later??

32bit DirectX plug-ins are not recognized in 64bit SONAR.

I have the Sonar 7 Disc, but I am not sure what to click on to install just the F/X.  Any suggestions?  I assume Direct X, but I don't know if that makes sense since I already have Sonar x3 installed.

Thanks

Running the installer, once you select 64bit, there should be an option to perform an advanced or basic install. Select "advanced" and the next screen will be a list of components with check boxes to install. Select only the items you want to install from this pick list.
