I opened several project files on 2 separate hard drives and in all cases, I couldn't get them to output audio.
The external insert seems 'broken', i.e. the fx return suddenly has only one option in the dropdown menu: none.
So I deleted the external fx from the 2 bus fx window, still no sound. The outputs are assigned properly. Rebooted, no change.
 
The only change has been the installation of Slate Trigger in the fx bin.

have you tried remove Slate Trigger in the fx bin?

External insert (I believe) is only for use with outboard gear.

I know. It was assigned to an external compressor. It had been working well up until now.
 
 

Could there be some internal routing option in ST, that emulates a hardware insert of some sort? Do not have ST, so I cannot test. Best of luck.

No. I'm not going to, either, until someone tells me how that could be the problem. I didn't install it to not use it.

Try to remove, the re - insert, just to pinpoint where the issue lies. If it is ST, or not, then we can look for a solution based on that. Best of luck.
Ps. I do not mean uninstall. Just remove from bus to see what happens.

I don't think so. If nobody here has a solution I'll have to call Sweetwater tech support in the morning (closed for the night) and see if they can sort it out. One of their techs helped me install it.

ST isn't in any bus; it's only in audio fx/ VST2.
