I see on the cakewalk site that there are supposed to be 16 virtual amps in Sonar Platinum. Where are they?

They're in the Command Center installer. You download all 16 at one time. There will be a new amp in the first update that's optimized for acoustic guitars, particularly those with piezo pickups.

Just to complete this post in case someone else is having trouble finding the Virtual Amps within Sonar itself.  I believe they are in the FX Chain Presets which can be installed in a Track by Left clicking the + button in the FX section of the Inspector Pane and selecting Insert FX Chain Preset and then looking through the folders, e.g. CA-X Amps Producer.

Craig, please correct me if I'm wrong.

You got it. The only thing I'd add is you can also drag them in from the plug-ins browser, that's what I do. The more I use the browser...the more I use the browser.

Another nicety...    Dragging a different CA-X sim from the browser over an existing CA-X will replace it.   Very convenient for playing back a recorded track in loop mode to test different sims.

So now I have to go to the forum to find out tips I didn't know about my own sims...

Cool tip!

You think that's bad? It just dawned on me what the "CA" in CA-X stands for!

It really does make auditioning them so much quicker and easier!

The CA-X series is still one of my favorite (and probably most used) content additions in SPlat.    Good stuff.

Glad you like them! I was remixing an old track the other day that used a different company's amp sim, and replaced it with the High Gain amp. The guitar solo had a flurry of pretty fast notes, and I was very surprised to hear that the High Gain amp allowed hearing each note more distinctly...they were more articulated. I think it may relate to the "tuning" of the cabs so there's less blurring with fast runs. I plan to investigate further so I can keep doing whatever I did.
