Hi, everytime I try to use Addictive Drums, and paste a clip into the track, there is no sound.  Also, it locks up the Sonar program and I have to restart the computer.  Am I missing something.  Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi, in addition to the above post, whenever I try to insert a VST instrument, I can hear it when I am previewing it, but when I drag it into the track, it locks up Sonar and I have to reboot.  I can't use any of the instruments that I paid for.  What am I missing please.

Hi. Do you use ASIO driver for your Focusrite? Are you assigning the proper MIDI track to your Vsti track? Do you use an external MIDI keyboard? Giving "us" the specks of your computer, will help in diagnosing your problem \ issue.

Update saffire mix control to 3.6
Run windows update
Check your asio settings in preferences

I do useASIO, when I preview any Vst I can hear it but when I drag it into the midi track associated with the soft synth Sonar locks up. I use a Motif keyboard but never touch it with the softsynth trying to use a preset midi file from the drum program. I did update both programs still no luck. It seems that there are two midi tracks in the Vst folder, I tried both. Very frustrating. I am missing something somewhere. Please tell me about the ASIO settings you mentioned, not sure what to do there. Thanks so much in advance.

Did you do the VST reset? Check link.
Did you do windows update
What specific version of Sonar? CCC up to date?
What specific version of AD2? Latest patch?
What version of mix control... 3.6?
Do you have issues with AD2 standalone?
 
Tell us how you have set up the driver in Sonar preferences. Main thing is to make sure you don't share it with other apps.

Are you using a simple instrument track or are you creating a midi track and trying to drag your virtual instrument into the midi track?
 
You should use the browser (hot key B) to add a synth track.  You will be able to select AD2 or whatever soft synth you like.
 
I'd recommend working through the tutorials in the Cakewalk manual (the actual projects are provided in your Content directory.)
