  • Very slow Sonar Startup after any reboot. Why?

The first time I start Sonar after any reboot it takes a few minutes (2-4).
What on earth could it be doing all that time?
It doesn't seem to matter if the computer has been on for a minute, or an hour- if it's the first time starting Sonar. it will be slow.
This started in the last few months and I've been too busy to address it.

I'm running the very latest and greatest version of Sonar (Everett? i forget)
I'm running
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional
Intel i7 860 @ 280Ghz
16Gb mem
64 bit
System Manufacturer Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
System Model P55M-UD2
BIOS Version/Date Award Software International, Inc. F11, 6/23/2010
SMBIOS Version 2.4

After the first time it's cached in memory somewhere rather than the disk perhaps.

Get a copy of process monitor out...

ALSO...
could this potentially be solved by upgrading to W10?????
I am currently between big projects right now and I'm feeling brave (stupid).

Based on the specs listed above, am i likely to have a smooth transition from 7 to 10?
I use the M-audio profire 2626 + Octane and the focusrite 18i20 (never at the same time :)

Impossible to tell..

Get a copy of process monitor out, and process explorer I suggest, find out what is going on and stop speculating :)

Hi, Do you have any of the programs to run automatically on startup? Could be an issue, due to boot time.
