I have a hard time believing these "bugs" are show stoppers. I'm fairly new to Sonar, but not new to software, and it seems DAW users have a high incidence of passive/aggressive-icity......

basic functions left out? I can "cut" a tune from beginning to end and then either publish it, or distribute it myself.

What basic function am I missing.

Full disclosure, I will never be doing orchestras, layers of synths, or heavy midi. But then I doubt I would be using
Sonar. It is, and mostly has been a singer/songwriter home studio type DAW. It happens to be approaching the "complexity" of the "Big Studio" programs, and that's cool.

Platinum is a huge improvement over X3E. Loads of bugs fixed. Those on the sidelines may prefer to wait another six months when more progress will be made whilst it matures further... There are definitely a few big hurdles still to overcome but it's still better than X3E. Their choice... I'm on Platinum.

Glad to hear one is on the way, I think it is very important.

I for one would not be here if it wasn't for the trial version of SONAR 8 I test drove.

Never say never... And those can all be done in SONAR now.
