Hey guys. I ma pretty happy with X3 but the big thing I am really missing is a GOOD brickwall limiter. Waves has a sale on L3 for $129. Is it right that I can upgrade to Platinum for $149? If this is correct I was wondering if Cakewalk was so kind to include as a part of the plugins with the new Platinum a brickwall limiter that can compete with the L3 or even the L2?

I looked at the new features but didn't see much mention of fx.
Thanks all for any help.

Also... I just noticed that the concrete limiter pro-channel plug-in is only $39 (I thought it was more) how does it compare?

The Concrete Limiter is very good. It's light years ahead of Boost 11 but I don'tn know how it compares to the ones you mention.
I DO know that lots of people on here use it in most of their projects.

Myself, I use the TRacks Brickwall Limiter which to my ears is extremely transparent

Last month Sweetwater had the T-Racks Grand CS suite on sale for $149 I wish I would've picked it up. I researched it and it seems like for whatever reason T-Racks just don't get love In alot of forums.

The Blue Tubes plug-ins have a brickwall limiter. There are also several free ones, like George Yohng's W1. This emulates Waves' original multiband maximizer. Overall, though, I've found no better multiband maximizer than the Waves L3 MultiMaximizer. The Concrete Limiter is great, but it's not multiband so it works best with individual tracks, not mixed program material although it can be used for that if you want more of a "straining" vibe.

I used to use Waves L1 as my go to for limiting but I've left it alone since I got the Cakewalk Concrete Limiter. IF you only need basic limiting to punch up your signal it's a beauty.

I like both Blue tubes limiter and Concrete limiter very much (different colors ). For a free one there is Limiter No6.  https://vladgsound.wordpress.com/downloads/

I just did the upgrade offer from Professional to Platinum. I knew the price would come down and so I jumped on it. There's a lot going on now and you'll be missing out if you don't climb on board.

What about using the Multi-band compressor thats in cakewalk then the concrete limiter, would that yield the same results? Is the Multi-band feature on the L3 that much better? How much more musical is the L3 over the concrete limiter removing the Multi-band feature from the comparison? Thanks guys for all of your help!

I would go straight for the Waves L3, the whole series is good L1, L2, L3, Cakewalks CL is ok, but it ain't no L3
