Hi,

I bought Dimension Pro about 4 years ago. Then I had an XP64 O/S and had to use the update patches to solve issues I had with stuck notes.

Since then DP has worked fine on my system. I upgraded to Windows 7 Pro 64 bit last summer and again had no problems.

Now though I have an entirely new computer and have been re-installing, what seems like my life, back onto the new system. I can't for the life of me get DP to work with Cubase Studio 4 - In fact it doesn't even recognise that DP exists....Have I installed DP into a place where Cubase can't see it?

I went onto the cakewalk support page and installed the 1.2 update and then the 1.5 update. I now have DP on my deskstop (its a shortcut) and am able to play the sounds - meaning that it's working with my O/S - but still Cubase can't find it in its VST Instruments drop down menu.

I haven't really got a clue where Cubase looks (I had thought it was VST plug-ins but it doesn't find it) Cubase does find the other VST instruments that came with it and despite me trying to install DP into the same folders it can't be seen.

Sorry this is a bit of a ramble but my brain is a bit of a ramble at the moment, confused as to why this isn't working.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Must be that crappy dongle that Cubase uses. I really liked cubase when I had it but had to get rid of it due to the dongle. You should probably use Sonar X1. In fact, they are coming out with the X1c. Great news.

you did re-apply the patch for cubase perhaps ?

I have used it in both sonar and cubase
