I expect this has been posted before, but I could not find anything. I had lost a fair bit of the free space on my system drive. In inspection I found 23.4GB in C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\Command Center\Downloads
 
I assume these are the install files downloaded by Control Center and its safe to remove them or move to a different location. But you know what they say about "assume".
 
Is there any reason to keep them in this location, or indeed to keep them at all.

Yes, the installers may be deleted or moved. You can also change where the program stores the files. The settings page is accessed by clicking on the gear in the upper right of the UI.
 
Should you ever need a file and the Command Center cannot find it in the download cache, the program will download the file again.
