I've resolved my drum map issues and RP issues. For the next week I'm on Maschine and then b**gering of to Spain. By the time I get back all should be well ... Anyway back to topic...

Well... I've never been to Spain.
But I kind of like the music.
Say the ladies are insane there...

Enjoy Spain, Alex.
(Sorry - now back to topic).

If you have your controller pane too high up the screen the drum map will still be hidden, even though you've chosen to display it

If you hover your mouse in the are indicated by the red rectangle it will turn into a double headed arrow.

Now click & drag downwards to reveal the Drum Map

Thanks but that's what the drum pane show does just another way.

I  created a new Template using Ezdrummer.   I attached the Ezdrummer drum map but nothing in PRV. I then changed  the output of the midi track to a different map and that show up in PRV.
I then select Ezdrummer drum map  and that works. Export the template but when I load the Template again the mapping is not in PRV.

I have experienced the dreaded "Everett Update Drum Map Issue" and have now replaced my .exe file as suggested here http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3230840 .  So far so good.

What I am wondering, though, is how will I know when it is safe for me to start using the CCC again?

A couple of other thoughts I have had as a result of this experience:

1) New updates could be noted as Beta versions until the dust settles a bit.  This allows those techies that like to test out the latest features to participate in the product development while the rest of us enjoy a relatively reliable product.  I will be waiting at least a week or two after any update is announced before updating from now on.

2) The new naming convention is really problematic.  Now instead of typing X3e we need to type Platinum Everett, or worse yet Professional Everett.  There is an old adage in QA: Nothing creates more arguments than "naming conventions" so I know there will be many views on this.   However, it appears that the marketing department made this decision at Cakewalk.  It does seem that names rather than numbers is all the rage in software these days.  It is highly likely that in the future we will look back at this "long name" era and feel really embarrassed about this.

Cheers,
Richard

If you are up to date in the CCC I think you should put it back to what is was! Sonar Everett Update 1 replaces it.
Cakewalk needs to remove that exe file now.
