Hi,

I have a project template with alot of VSTi's and basically I'm finding that the project is loading up and some of the VSTi's are not playing until I select them and then I have to wait.

Is there something in X3 that can tell me when all the VSTi's are loaded and also make sure they all load? I have made sure I haven't disconnected or archived the VSTi tracks.

Kind Regards
Joe

VST or VSTi? I don't think a VST is going to take much time to load. Where a VSTi  might take a while to load all its samples. If you have a few VSTis with samples it could take a minute or so for all of them to load.

I know of nothing within Sonar that will say what has loaded and what hasn't. Normally I see my VSTis loading samples.

When the hard disk light stops rapidly blinking, it's ready.

Ah I couldn't do that anyway as its under our mixing console in an ISO box we made.

Yep, PC. It's all we've got. I know there are small utilities you can install that places a virtual HDD light in your taskbar. Maybe that would help?

So you already have sounds selected in the VSTIs that need to load. All of the VSTIs that I have tell you when they're loading samples I to memory by some sort of a progress meter. I guess it becomes more complex when a number of VSTIs are loading samples in unison.
You should notice CPU and HDD activity in Sonar's performance meter in the Control bar. Make that active before you load you template (if it's not active all the time) and you should be able to tell, especially if the drag on your system stops you from doing anything.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies :)

I will try that DiskLED software and see if that helps.

and Mudgel thanks for the advice. Yes they do have progress meters but the amount of VSTi's being loaded it would be to much work to go through each one to check its loaded.

As for the Performance meters in Sonar both the RAM and the CPU's don't really take a hit and the same applied to Cubase when we used it and it was always a pain making sure everything was loaded etc

Thanks alot for your help
Joe
