A single question: how is possible to use more than 16 channels in a single instance of Kontakt 3?
Today I have to open many instances...

When I want to choose the port "B" I see:

1) omni
2) Port A (from host)
3) Port B (not available) <------
3) Port C (not available)
3) Port D (not available)

In GigaStudio 3 I have Gigaout: Ports 1 to Gigaout: Port8, i.e., up to 128 midi ports in just one rewired device.

Any ideas?

The other ports I believe are only available in standalone mode.  I don't know of any host that lets you access the other ports running as a VST.

That is correct.

This my topic, created 6 years ago, remains the same? In other words, (now with Sonar X3 and Kontakt 5) yet I can not use "Port B, C or D", that is, more than 16 MIDI channels per instance of Kontakt?
Nothing changed?

VST3 support added in Platinum (if not X3) supports multiple MIDI ports on aVSTi, but the plug-in has to be VST3 to expose them correctly.

Host can only access A I believe. For other ports run standalone and consult the manual.

Ta.

I have some VST3 synths working on X3, but Kontakt 5 is VST2.
If the solution to use other Kontakt ports would be with VST3, I wonder if there is any way to convert or use a plugin VST2 as VST3?

Nope. Check the manual.
