I would like to see more improvements and features on the core side of the Sonar programm instead of plugin development and fx-chains.
My instruments, sounds or fx are already covered by the current sonar or good 3rd party plugins.

The features forum is full on good requests of core Sonar features to enhance workflow and usabilty and it will be more day by day. I would wish that more attention is paid to these user requests.

Ok, I'm a noob, but sheesh! Some of you seem like a bunch of whiny bratty kids. If Sonar can't be all things to all people, then somehow it's not worthy of existence, and should be taken out back and shot(hyperbole is nice in small doses IMO). We have many choices in Sonar as to how to execute whatever it is we are doing. I mean I almost fell out of my chair when I printed out the shortcuts doc. I was expecting at most a front and back dealio. What I got was 5 pages! So, I'm not a power user, not a fanboy, and after researching(and spending money on) the different ways of producing music on my own, I ended up here. When I was working, I never accomplished anything in Sonar. Now that I have the time to learn, I am amazed each and every day at the "power" in my hands.

When I look back at my life, I see some good, some bad, and a lot of in between. It has made me who I am for better or worse. I try to keep things on the better side. All that to say, when I look back at CWs existence(remember DOS?), I see the same thing. A few missteps along the way, but lessons learned. They have a nice healthy view of client relations and as time passes, they trim, and cut, and prune, and fertilize(new features), and here we are....Sorry, I should have used baking terms!

This is a Membership - where better for Members to express their views on the forthcoming contents? Much has been made of Cake's active listening to their customers - I don't think that means exclusively cheerleading. FWIW I didn't read anything remotely negative in any of the posts in this thread - very civil and to the point. The only reason members are offering their opinions is to help to make the product even better, imo.

It's either all about me, or all about you, or all about us. If it is all about us, we need to cut each other some slack. I would like to think the bakers, the bean counters, and the user community have common, if not identical goals. Each feature request has to be weighed against the others, and we, the users, don't have the bandwidth for all of the facts. I just know that to "me" this particular fix/feature is critical. Had they been of the mindset that stability trumps everything, we would still be on 8.5 or some such........

And if I was a bit over the top, I apologize.

I have to say that Sonar Platinum has been a very
worthwhile investment.  It just keeps on getting better,
even without all the "added" things, just the overall
feature improvements during the course of Platinum
has been outstanding, both in terms of usefulness, and
in terms of value added.

My hat is off to Cakewalk, Noel and the boys, and everyone
that has obviously done of a lot of work to get these things
implemented, and to Craig for his continued presence and
contributions to both the Forum and the Product.

Compared to Pro Tools, which hasn't had a single update
really since the release of V12 8 months ago, even though LOTS of new
features were "promised", I think Cakewalk has delivered
on every front, and I sure hope that the Industry takes note
of this and makes a paradigm shift towards it...

Great job guys...and you're only half way through the year!
(the REAL question is "how are you going to top what you've already done? )

Yeah.....what Larry said.....great job guys, keep up the good work!
