Thanks Andrew, since you asked :)....cool but I could live without most of this but now I would like to see stuff that helps with the workflow...like real important fundamental stuff:

My top 3 dream features/addons:

1: shortcuts (like shift + T / shift + A ) to collapse/expand all or selected tracks take lanes / automation lanes, if no track selected/active, these shortcut will effect all tracks that have takelanes & automation lanes....
This one is a real pain as it is now, becaus there is no way to collapse/expand them at once, only way is to one track at time, current functionallity forces me to keep all tracks takelanes/automation lanes open and i have many tracks with take/automation lanes, it looks sooo messy, have to scroll up snd down alot to navigate thru the tracks... Please make this feature

2: more visible highlighted active track/ selected track needed.
Its hard too see an active track in track view and console view, its impossible to find/see the the active track right now and also see same track in console view easily (I run on 2 screens, console view on 2'nd screen) , workaround now is if you solo the track in track view, the way to find the same track in console view is look for which track is solo'ed (green (S))
So, a more visible highlighted track (whole track/console track ) would be awesome, as it is now, a blue track name background color is really not enough...
This one could be customizeable in options menu, how visible highlight, what areas and so on...

3: better difference between take lanes and regular tracks, they look the same..

Small features but with big positive workflow impact IMHO

Maybe these features won't sell new sonar copies but these will make me (or other users) stay with sonar.....Think about that...

(Don't tell me to feature request these, already did, no effect :( )

Thanks for reading...

...and Andrew, please respond to this, (I wrote all this on my phone, do you know how hard it is to write this much on a phone? :)) thanks

Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely pass along. We love to read people's feedback, good or bad, so keep it coming.

I would like to see more improvements and features on the core side of the Sonar programm instead of plugin development and fx-chains.
My instruments, sounds or fx are already covered by the current sonar or good 3rd party plugins.

The features forum is full on good requests of core Sonar features to enhance workflow and usabilty and it will be more day by day. I would wish that more attention is paid to these user requests.

Agree 100%

I see it like - Platinum is the version that brings the most moneywise to Cakewalk.
So content and plugins is what differentiates Platinum from the rest - also in expectations from users.

As Artist user I would love to see general improvements on core Sonar DAW - but also understand the facts of life of a business.

So I think we need to accept that plugins and content is what is happening the most.
But when it comes to fixes of core daw we all can expect equal treatment.

I hope I wasnt rude in my post, my intention is only well, Sonar is in good shape, thanks for the hard work dev team and everyone involved, but like we all know, there is always room for improovements, thanks again...

We are constantly working on core improvements and enhancements to SONAR in general. That's something we will continue to do and should make SONAR even better. A lot of people ask why this model is so much more beneficial to the end user, and it's because we don't have to switch to a new version and abandon the current one. The constant focus on the core will be so much better both short and long term. Also, Platinum includes some integrated solutions that really make it stand out. Yes, there are other third party drum replacement and vocal alignment solutions (and yes they can be pricey) but none of them are as elegantly integrated into the program as ours (in my opinion). This is a huge advantage in terms of workflow. And we'll continue to refine these features based on your feedback.

I must say that I love the integration part of stuff happening...
Many years ago I used to run melodyne standalone (before they made plugin version) together with sonar in the background synced up, it could be tricky but it worked, then they made the plugin version which I switched to and melodyne'ing stuff became little easier but when melodyne plugin got integrated in sonar, just hitting CTRL+M on an audio clip, yeah!, that was pure magic moment for me :)

It really is. I mentioned this in a thread just after the last update, but I used Drum Replacer on a dodgy kick drum recording and had that mix signed off by the band three days after Drum Replacer was released. Almost no learning curve at all. It was so well integrated, sonar-esque, and well-realised, it just slipped straight into the working process.

In the interests of balance, I will say I've not had as good an experience with VocalSync, which I find perhaps too simple for its own good. For that kind of work, I think I'd still rather take the long way round and use some combination of edits and audio snap.

Plt is improving. It has been more reliable for the most part recently and I can now focus on creating. When I started using it, it was so unreliable that I had to use X3 because of all the 'stop working' issues. So aside from the new things added, I appreciate the stability the most. I can now try out the new stuff, without worrying about losing it if I had to open it in X3.

Melodyne usage has improved but it still freezing the system and/or throwing my audio drivers out. I'm using the editor and it still seems that I can only work on small sections at a time. So Bakers, please look into that.

I also haven't loaded Rap Pro since it took 5 minutes to load. I hope this will be improved as well.

Overall, it's good to see it wasn't my system causing initial stops, crashes and whatever else instability with Sonar. I like the current subscription model and these regular improvements. I agree with other posters about not needing all these extra toys - all the time. I'd be happy to just have a solid DAW. I'm liking Sonar again.

I love what Cake is doing with these updates ! However I am still waiting for that button labeled

'Make a "Certifiable undeniable solid platinum number one smash!" '

Andrew tweeted me they were working on it, didn't you Andrew ? :)

Best to everyone !

FWIW improvements to the core program/features are independent of FX chains, expansion packs, and other content. Whether there are no FX chains or 100 FX chains doesn't affect SONAR's development, so you don't have to worry about content usurping core development.

It's also a given that not all content will appeal to all people. For example those who already have an aural exciter emulation plug-in don't need the Sizzle Bus FX Chain, but it's useful for those who don't have an equivalent plug-in. Or, the CA-X amps take a different approach from other amp sims because they emulate "idealized" amps rather than a specific amp sound, so they provide something different instead of just duplicating other sim.

The most important aspects to users are fixes and features; the content has always been a "bonus." However much of it has been quite popular, possibly because there's enough so that even if all of it isn't useful to someone, they'll find something that pertains to them. At least, that's the plan .
