Just finished connecting Touchdaw to Sonar and it works. I haven't put it through a lot of testing yet, but I'm impressed by what I'm able to do from my phone. Simple things like arm, record, playback, scrub/scroll, pan. Like I said, just starting to use it but I really like that I can step away from my desktop to record, etc. Still can't believe all the uses we get from our phones nowadays.

Anyone else using this app?

Yes, I tried it a few months ago with my Kindle Fire HD gen1 and RTPmidi. I got the full version for like 5 bucks from the Amazon store. RTPmidi was a little tedious to set up but once I got it working, TouchDAW worked right away. The transport controls, faders and knobs work great but the real reason I tried it was I wanted a touch joystick to control the Z3TA-2 XY control. I could not get this to work. I will give it another shot when I have time. Have you tried mapping the TouchDAW XY control to anything in Sonar or a synth?
RTPmidi is useful for other things as well. I tried running Jam Origin (MIDI guitar) on my laptop and using RTPmidi to connect its MIDI output via wifi to virtual synths in Sonar running on my studio desktop PC. MIDI latency was virtually 0 over 54Mbs wifi (laptop wifi & ethernet desktop).
BTW, if anyone tries TouchDAW via RTPmidi, be sure that the ports it wants to use are not blocked by your router.

I didn't try it with soft synths yet. I was just happy to see it control the main functions of the tracks and transport. I will probably use it more for recording tracks away from the pc. This software is one of the better deals out there! I bought the full version as well.

Can someone explain how to make a phone talk to the computer.

I tried TouchDaw once but couldn't work out how to make it connect to Sonar. I guess there is some sort of router setup required.

Both the computer and the phone have to be connected to a network. You will need to following the install instructions on the Touchdaw site. I had it running in about 20 mins the first time.

Once you setup rtpMIDI, and follow the instructions, then you enable the mackie controller in Sonar and choose your newly named rtpMIDI channels. Start Touchdaw and choose Network and then RTP connection. After that, I'm still learning my way around. But Touchdaw seems very responsive to the tasks I tried.

Thanks music.
I shall have another go. Somehow missed all those install instructions the first time round.

Here's a very useful Youtube video on the subject that makes it easy to setup: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KcCoa7JLddI.  Good luck!

Hi people. I am liking the sound of TouchDAW but will it control master bus faders too?
