  • "Enhanced start page" in development - what do you feel should be there? (p.2)

none, please.    Especially not one that goes and gets online videos for the best software in the world.    watching command center check for updates is enough excitement and irritation for me already.

Surely by now even the developers know that " Get started faster than ever !!!!"   is completely incompatible with "Never miss a beat with the latest tips and support information about SONAR!!!!!"

Dunno about that. Someone's already mentioned Studio One's start page, which does both of those things really well.

Being able to quickly differentiate between project types. For example, if I save a project as a bundle, it's probably so I can collaborate or archive, I really don't want to open it .

Being able to remove it from the list would be nice too.

Personally, I'd like to see it removed completely. Start up and splash screens get in the way and get turned off asap here.

so, a checkbox "don't show this again" (reactivatable in prefs somewhere)

+1 something like StudioOne example.
ANYTHING more visual with access to important data without opening the entire project!
Image, Sample Rate / Bitdepth, etc.
and as mentioned, a checkbox "don't show this again" (reactivatable in prefs somewhere)

Which the current version already has, it should be noted.

I have no idea how this became a priority for developers. As I mentioned in another thread, where are the complaints that what we have now is not good enough? This is so far down my priority list I can't see it.

Heh, yeah, true enough, it's not like the Quick Start box has ever caused me to wail and beat my chest. But hey, improvements are improvements, and there are all kinds of different users. I assume the intention here is to make things more novice-friendly, and I think that's a laudable goal.

A start page is always a good shop window. Hey you might even get access to the forums in Sonar just what you always wanted right?
