Well I have been a loyal Cakewalk user since 1999...
But? Enough is enough! Is there anyone else who feels the way I do! Are you tired of having to purchase the latest version long before the last platform is even fixed? Sure bugs will be in any software program! But how many times are we expected to PAY for the solution. The "X series" has been a cash cow. Now we have the ridiculous membership program. Sure a few new features to the same interface, a few added plug-ins and once again we are forced to update.  (Did Gibson buy XLN Audio too?...lol)  I have addictive drums and its a decent drum program. Seems to be another marketing incentive. My guess is we will paying $150 OR MORE every year for the latest fix.

Perhaps its time to switch to the industry standard and get it over with. I don't wont to own stock in Gibson.

When I read this I thought "he doesn't seem very angry". I check out his "Studio" and just ads. He's not a troll, he's a spammer.   Pretty good no links workaround. Move on, nothing to see here folks.

Well, you get a lot more than just fixes for the price of the update and I think most software companies, including Avid, don't do new bug fixes for versions that are no longer being sold. A lot of SONAR users feel features like VocalSync, Mix Recall, VST3, Melodyne support, and others (which Pro Tools doesn't have) are pretty significant. As to the membership program, regarding Pro Tools you might want to look before you leap and check out the fine print.

Not saying SONAR is perfect, but as someone who's used every DAW out there except Reaper (couldn't get past the UI), no DAW is and the grass is not always greener on the other side. However, there are usually some patches that are greener, which is why different people choose different DAWs.

I should probably point out that Gaslight Productions/ Mobile, Al is a genuine, Sonar using studio.

Someone annoyed by buying upgrades recommends Pro Tools?

There is nothing but ads at the site. And there is adware, malware pop-ups.

The name at the site is the same as the name he registered with at the forum. He may have taken just part of the real studios name. If he set up a site for this maybe he is doing it at other DAW forums.
