Except I like using the markers in the timeline, that actually say "verse 1", "chorus", etc.  Typing in numbers has never been my strong point on the keyboard.  lol!

plus... I'll always want a little "pre-roll" if I'm overdubbing (or listening), so jumping exactly to the downbeat of the 2nd chorus doesn't work in my instances.

You can also set up a pre-roll (and post-roll) amount in PT so going to a hard downbeat won't bother your way of working.

If it'd get me a cute girl in Daisy Dukes, on my website picture, I might go for it!

Her Mama was sitting right behind me at all times.  (I insist on it.)  [;D]

EDIT: Now that I think about it, Mama took the picture.

Yes, Im so sick of paying for upgrades.  Im thinking of going back to hardware based recording.  I have a Boss BR600 (older ver) sitting in front of me.  Also a couple loop stations.  I understand if your doing pro soundtracks and need to edit under a microscope the computer.  But To play and multi Track?  What is the best without the BS?  I started with Voyetra in 1981, after they went out of business Cakewalk.  I have a Mac.  Should I go to pro tools to avoid the constant upgrade charges?  any suggestions please?  Ive heard of Cubase and others that might work well.  I like the PC.  Thanks very much for your post.

I don't think that would work out too well.

Serious answer: Absolutely not. Check out Reaper. Pay very little and get updates for like a million years. It's a solid DAW. However you certainly won't get all the extra goodies you do with Sonar though but if you are considering going to hardware anyway then that likely doesn't matter to you. I still prefer Sonar.

BTW... there really isn't ANY DAW out there aside from Reaper that isn't going to regularly charge for upgrades.

You do of course have another option and that is... just don't upgrade. It's not like old versions stop working... unless of course you upgrade your OS and for whatever reason the old DAW can't handle it but again... you don't have to upgrade your OS.

You can tell he never had to deal with AVID..20+ years of their product and enough was enough for me.Sonar any day of the week.

Well, that would certainly do the job if you choose their subscription route. If you don't pay to upgrade, your software will die, so there won't be anything to upgrade, so no upgrade fees. Problem solved! Or choose SONAR, don't upgrade, but keep using it anyway.
