I don't do it often, but I've now realized that "cut special" with "delete hole" checked no longer works at all?

Something very odd with Sonar Platinum cut and paste .. I keep finding new problems.    Not sure if this is always, or with heavy controller usage, or with heavy tempo changes ....   anyone else notice this?

I've had this since forever, not just Platinum. I think it has something to do with midi clips in the selected range. I gave up and just do it manually now. Very annoying.

I actually used that recently where I wanted to delete an empty section (without any clips) between clips and it did not work at first ... because I did not know how to activate the greyed out "delete hole" option - eventually (I think) I used CTRL+A to select all first and then selected "the hole" (i.e. the time range I wanted to delete) in the time range selection and then it surprisingly did work as expected (including moving markers, meters, tempo changes, etc.)

Approach is somewhat inconsistent in Sonar regarding many select procedures.
At times you should unselected everything Ctrl Shift A to the meaning you want to affect everything.
And sometimes select all Ctrl A and other times just the tracks you want affected.

And reading on delete hole you really have to read through a couple of times - so different if any data/clips in hole or not etc.

And references as "use the following method" etc - and it is very ambiguos if "following" means the bulleted paragraph or something else below.

Reading about it I cannot tell if you should move stuff on tracks where there happend to be no data separately by dragging clips-method. And Cut Dialog explanation says clearly that all object are moved by Delete Hole. In Delete Dialog explanation it only talk about clips are moved.

You really want a method to just split any clips in there, with options, and move things even on tracks where no data in the hole.

It's such a disaster failing this operation, so explanation need to be improved - or make a dedicated function not part of overall editing.

So look over explanations in help to make us be able to help ourselves. It's very inconsistent as it is now.

Disable Non-Destructive MIDI Editing (NDME).

Delete hole last worked with NDME enabled in X2a. It still works with NDME disabled except that the end boundary of the clip that gets slid back to fill the hole won't get automatically trimmed as it should. That last worked correctly in 8.5. Apply Trimming manually will take care of that.
