Can anyone tell me where I can find a beginners tutorial for SONAR. I have Platinum. I bought it for long range plans, but I need to start with basics. Something as simple as laying out a MIDI part in the Staff View. Start Simple and move up the ladder. I can't spring forth from Zeus's forehead fully grown like Athena!

Find Cakewalk University.

At the very top of the forum select the big Cakewalk pic, in the window that opens there are numerous menus across the right side of the screen. Select Community then pick any of the items showing.

Here's a link but the instructions will help you find them at other times.

Even if you see videos that apply to earlier versions, as long as they are X1 or newer you should be OK because the features or techniques are generally still appropriate to current versions.

And off course I would recommend the Sonar X3  power book
of Scott R. Garrigus which also leads deep into Sonar, if you like:

The SONAR manual would be a nice place to start. That gives you an idea of what can be done, where to look for what etc. You get the picture, then you can concentrate on one bit at a time using videos or whatever you prefer.
The tutorials you have in SONAR (press F1) give a good support there as well.

Thanks for the recommendation, Peter! That page may be moving in the near future though, so people may want to go to the main site, just in case: http://www.garrigus.com/
