Bill Jackson: Huh? I don't know what you mean.

Say you have a flac file, for example. If you drop it in SONAR it'll convert in place to wav. Then you can drop it in DR. Will work for any supported import format.

A big problem though is that so many Rapture Pro SFZ files use FLAC samples. So DR won't load these samples.

Maybe some day they'll be useable in DR. ;)

Gotta say, Drum Replacer is doing what it does so well here. No glitches, no issues, just pure sorcery!! Ha ha! Seriously, great job Cakewalk!
Now, all that remains for me is to learn how to get access to more samples and this thing will be serious voo doo.
Also, if I buy the whole expansion packs for Session Drummer 3 that the provided samples came from, will they be readily available to Drum Replacer without a bunch of trying to figure out how to convert them and stuff? I apologize for my total ignorance about samples and software instruments and such, I've just never, ever dealt with such things before.

No doubt:)

Maybe even next month.

How about RX2 as well. Lots of drum sequences come like that
That, though, is not so useful because usually one would want a slice of the REX file so importing the slice from a clip would be more likely done.

I presume that mostly this just involves dropping in a library function with not much impact on the major source code.

REX files can be broken into events over a set time, using something like bounce to audio clip then using audio snap you can dissect a loop part and remove the parts you don't want. You can then fill the void of silence by inserting new parts although with some drums and percussion they will be spill or extra release sounds (such as hi-hats or cymbals).

Then again, what would I know.

I do not know how the samples in SD3 expansion packs are delivered. SD3 ships with samples in flac format so they do not play in the current version of DR. If you have SD2 installed or expansion packs for SD2, they load right up in DR because the samples are waves. Also the Sonic Reality Ocean Way kit which came as a promo with 8.5 uses wave files.

I was looking through the SFZ spec and I could not find any op-code that looked like it would support a REX slice number, so REX is not so useful in SFZ files. I suppose the sample offset could work to specify the slice start and the sample endpoint could be made, too, but that's a lot of work.

I think the REX support in built into the synth like DPro. I believe REX support came after the initial sfz spec and there is nothing in sfz about REX file handling.
