sfz supports round-robins. I looked at some of the files. There appear to be two samples per velocity range. Which sample plays is determined at random.

The main reason I asked is, what I use today may have as many as 16-24 samples per drum, which can be played at different velocities, etc. but from the sample video of the Drum Replacer for Sonar, didn't mention anything about # samples available and the sounds all sounded the same for each hit. I would have advertised any dynamics.

A quick count of one of the bass sfz shows 16 velocity layers w/ 2 samples per layer.
A snare sfz has 24 velocity layers w/ 2 samples per layer.
Toms are similar.

With regards to file formats, REX, flac etc, wasn't what that Bill dude from cakewalk saying, that you can use any of the file types that Sonar can handle, and Drum replacer can't natively by just dragging them into Sonar and they will be automatically converted to wav ? Then you can use them in Drum Replacer ? Forgive me if this was obvious, but I just got the feeling of a little misunderstanding (probably on my part, just skimming through on my phone, not really ideal)

Anyway, Sonar Platinum is pretty cool, and the forums, well, they are interesting, perusing through the threads, it seems it's not an entirely happy place, which is fine, certainly some 'characters' for want of a better word :)

Pretty much. It may be easier to use an editor capable of batch conversion though. For example, my Session Drummer 3 kits folder contains 4450 flac files. But I expect flac support will be added.

In the videos it says the kicks, snare and hi-hats were used, but the only thing it shows is kicks, snare and toms. No cymbals of any sort are available. Am I missing something?

You can load cymbals into one of the "lanes" - watch the second video "Using your own samples with Drum Replacer".

Having skipped the previous updates, and not using the Cakewalk Command Center (yet).. at my store account, is the SONAR Platinum UP4 Setup 21.4.0.27 refers to Everett ?

UP4 means 4th Update ? And is it possible to get previous update at the store account itself as I'm only seeing one Platinum download link only (UP4) ?

Thanks!

The updates are cumulative, the most recent will contain previous updates as well as the current.
The Sonar update is the main program, all the other files in the connected section are additional installs of features that go with it.

And they are working on an update to the command center from what I've heard, which will make it easier if you have multiple drives etc.
