Sounds like it could be Audio Snap 3 with a new name.

It will allow you to drag selections right from the Clips Pane. Also any .wav from Windows Explorer or the SONAR Browser.

Is there going to be a way to integrate a 3rd party drum instrument?
I've invested thousands of dollars in Superior Drummer and it's content.
I don't want to spend yet more money on drum packs from yet another vendor.

You can freeze a track playing the samples you want from your instrument of choice. Then select and drag them in.

Alternatively, you can drag an ARA clip to an instrument track and trigger the instrument with the resulting MIDI clip.

Part of Sonar? Or $199 add-on?

It will be included as part of the Platinum membership.

Are the samples included? I believe this is the first time I've seen Cakewalk release anything specific to Metal.

Seems to run via ARA, so looks like a different kettle of fish

We'll be including multisampled kicks, snares and toms from the kits referenced at the bottom of the page.

I don't know why I didn't get it the first time you explained it. Thanks for your patience in explaining it again and for getting back so promptly Bill.

I was talking about the "Metahead" samples mentioned on the page. Looks like only pieces of each kit will be included though.

It's a relatively useful tool, if you're recording live drummers.
