As for the work flow I have been looking forward to this.

I dont have a drum set but I do have several things including a djembe blocks etc and have been thinking about getting a cajhon(sp).

What I am hoping is that I can bang out a beat with the feel I want and convert it to either the waves or to midi to use as input to Jamstix or Session Drummer etc. Then I could layer the various percussion instruments.

I'm hoping this will fit in the drum replacer workflow.

Couldn't you do this already with ARA integration of Melodyne?  Drag the audio clip to a MIDI track, and it will convert to MIDI?

Sorry if I misunderstand the issue..

I was reading a comparison of Drumagog and Trigger 2? (I think it was called Trigger 2). Either  or both of them said it could use drums from any drum program like EDrummer SD2 ADD2 and others to replace drums in a recorded drum track where there is too much bleed or other problems.
I hope it will be simple, easy to use, and able to use any drum sample available. I imagine it will be.
Workflow, it matters.

This is a drum replacer.
In Melodyne if you're working with the audio of a drum track you can only edit the sample that's been played. This drum replacer will let you replace one drum sample with another. That's just that particular feature. It sounds a bit like Audio Snap on steroids.

@ Mudgel its not really an issue as I have not tried to do it yet.

I believe you are right that with a bit of fiddling I could probably get the midi I would need to feed Jamstix.

I Know what a drum replacer is..

Please read Tom's post, then my answer might make sense to you.

If Tom played a beat on his djembe, he could drag the clip to an audio track, it would be converted to MIDI, and he could use it to trigger Session Drummer, etc.

HTH.

Sorry Tom, I was replying to jb101. Got you caught in the middle because I grabbed the quote from your quote instead of direct from his post.
