Hi folks

I'm a big fan of these free vst plugs from audiocation (compressor and eq):

Unfortunately they do not show up in the sonar x3 plugin manager , although they show up and work in sonar 8.5.3!!

Does anybody know, how to make them work in sonar x3?

Thanks and all the best
- g.

It appears two of the plug-ins are 32bit only and the other two have both 32bit and 64bit versions. Is is possible you are running 32bit 8.5 and 64bit X3? If so, consider installing the 64bit versions of these plug-ins where available and add the location of the 32bit dlls for the others to your scan path.

hi scook

thanks for the quick replay.

you're right about 32bit 8.5 and 64bit X3. I already added the location of the 32bit (comp & eq) to sonars scan path, but they remain invisible.

I just sent audiocation an email and asked for a the "missing" 64bit versions...

I installed the EQ. It does not fully scan in the 64bit scanner.  The registry entry reports it is not a VST plug-in. I am using a newer scanner than the one in X3 but I would expect a similar result.

It might work with jBridge or the 32bit version of X3, I do not have either installed.

There must be a reason Audiocation did not port the EQ and Comp plug-ins to 64bit but did port the Phase Alignment Tool and Loudness Meter. The Loadness Meter scans and loads OK. May want to ask them about these plug-ings.

Edit: I just noticed the response about email to manufacturer. I was testing and composing this reply at the time.

I tested jBridge, but the compressor crashes...

That leaves installing 32bit X3 as the last option. Both 32 and 64bit SONAR may be installed on the same machine. I would suggest looking for alternatives to these plug-ins rather than ways to continue using them. There are plenty of good EQs and compressors to choose from.
