Hi friends!
A problem is killing me! Sometimes when I work on a project and for example open a VST, my Sonar X3 doesn't respond and after that I end process and open it again, there appears an error saying:
" There are no audio devices for the current driver model on your system. Please go to Edit|preferences|Audio|Playback and Recording and choose a different driver model"
and when I go there (preferences) I see that my ASIO driver isn't there and Audio|Devices is empty, until I restart my PC and it comes back.

My System info:
CPU: inter core i5 , 3.10 GHz
Ram: 4*4 (16) GB 1600
Motherboard: H97 Pro
SoundCard: Line 6 Ux2
Win 7 x64 bit

Hi. Do you have the latest drivers for your ux2? If not, download it, and update.  If you do have the latest drivers,  you could try to uninstall, and reinstall them. Reboot.
Best of luck.

If you have Windows set to use your sound card disable windows sounds. In fact it's a good idea no to use your sound and for windows sounds. If you have an onboard sound chip then use that for windows sounds through a small set of computer speakers.

Once you've done that you'll find you no longer have the problem of losing your ASIO driver.

This sounds like a problem that used to happen in X1 when Rapture used to crash... Sonar would crash, but the Sonar .exe program kept running, and this therefore still had a hold on your ASIO device. You either had to reboot or kill SONARPDR.exe in Task Manager...

I used to have Sonar hang on a bad MIDISport drive a long time ago.  I finally figured out I could unplug the USB cable for the MIDISport and get on with life.

Is your interface USB?  Have you tried unplugging/replugging it?

His interface is USB. I would be surprised if unplugging it and then plugging it back in would fix the problem. Never did when Sonar used to crash on me...

I haven't had it fix a crash, but I have freed up a hung instance by unplugging

Hi, thanks for reply.
I think I have the latest drivers. I checked Line6 site and there were no update file for my UX2! I think there is no update.

If I got you right, you say that I can plug a simple speaker to the case and us onboard sound card (Realtek) and plug main speakers to Line 6 and use ASIO only for DAWs.
I have disabled onboard sound card through BIOS (as Steinberg site's advice) so now I must enable it and use it for windows and disable Line 6 for Windows?

I haven't used Sonar X1 , but the problem is like what you say. I must kill SONARPDR.exe in Task Manager and then reboot in order to use ASIO again.
