In the old days there used to be the ability (at least in staff view) to use the mouse to drag a vertical position line over the notes and they would "play".  Individual notes clicked on by the mouse also "played".
Those features seem to be missing, or at least aren't obvious to a brand new user of MC.
If they are there, I'd appreciate being educated.

SCRUB.... I think is what you're referring to. 
 
I'll have to look it up.... because I don't use that function/feature in the way I work. You could also hit F1 for help and type in the word SCRUB. 
 
The bakers tend to move the things around from one version to the next.  I doubt they took it out, but chances are good they hid it just for fun.
