Hello!
Just wondering, when I export a final mix from sonar, often the sample rate and bit depth need to be altered if say I want to burn a CD. (I prefer to record and mix at the highest rates available rather than set everything to 44.1/16 bit from the start)

I usually bring the file into Sound Forge and use the resample and/or bit depth convertors in there.

Is there a better way for best quality results?
Also: resample (alias filter or no?)

Thank you!
Jono

Sound Forge does a fine job of sample rate conversion, wordlength reduction and dithering. However, it really isn't necessary to do it that way if you want to save a step. SONAR/CbB does just as well, better than many DAWs in fact. Just select the desired sample rate, bit depth and dither from the File -> Export - Audio dialog. The resulting CD-compatible file won't sound different/better, it just streamlines the process.

Okay, thanks! Good to know. I'm never sure if DAWs do a great job of it. That's saves time.

I know iZotope has a plug for it as well.
Thanks!
