what kinds of problems will it create leaving it the way it is. Just curious because I am having some audio card issues with my motu pci card. Wasn't sure if this was the cause

Sorry, It's not possible to run a 64bit installer on a 32 bit OS.
You can install a 32 bit program on a 64 bit OS but not vice versa.
Looks elsewhere for your issues.

That's right, it's impossible to install a 64-bit app on a 32-bit platform. My laptop is 32-bit. Whenever I've installed Sonar on it, the 64-bit option is not available.

Thanks I thought that was causing my problem .
The problem Is a white noise distortion coming out of my MOTU 2408. It will play fine for a moment then go into this horrible distortion. Now all of a sudden windows 8 kicked out the driver and it disappeared from the device manager, replaced by the original os device.
Windows 8
Sonar Platinum
Pcix-424

Last time I had something like this it was caused by a plugin in the signal chain running in demo mode. Don't remember which one it was but it's not an uncommon demo 'limitation'; this one just happened to have it's noise bursts at max volume.

No idea about the rest.

Windows 8 isn't the best really.

Agreed.  However, Window 8.1 is perfectly fine.  If he is on 8.0, that could very well be the problem, and he needs to upgrade to 8.1 (it's free) and install all the available updates.

If you meant Windows 8.1 is not the best, then that is not helpful.  As long as the OS is still supported, it should work fine and wouldn't be causing the issues that he's describing.

No I meant 8 and as for 8.1 it won't update on my laptop without issue. Even turned off secure boot. A clean install is the answer to that I think. However I might just install Ubuntu or Windows 10 instead if push came to shove.
