I was just at the XLN website going to buy beats but when I tired to check out it said I needed to upgrade to AD2.
I can open and use AD2 and its registered with XLN but does not show up as having it in m y account.
Why do I needed to pay 79.95 upgrade AD2 to buy more beats?

any ideas?

Hmmm. If you login to XLN website and then go here:

90 dollars a kit... Bargain... ;)

I'm only looking to buy beats but I did just try to buy a kit as well and I can't buy anything unless I upgrade to AD2 for $79.95. I don't get it. ha!

Contact XLN. Seems likely they would know the answer.

AD2 is part of each ADpak; you can't buy AD2 alone. Also, the Beats come in a .XPAK file, so you need AD2 to access them. If you have purchased SPlat, you get 3 ADpaks, 3 MIDI paks and 3 kit pieces. With SPro, you get one of each. That ADpak gets you AD2.

If you're just looking for drum beats in MIDI files, there are plenty of free MIDI file download sites on the web. I use MidiYodi to test listen AND to convert MIDI Type 0 files to Type 1 (using the Trackify command in the File drop down menu). You can then pull just the the drum track if you like it.

If you have SPlat or SPro, open the Command Center, select Addictive Drums 2 and swipe/copy the Serial number shown. Then go to the XLN website, log in to your account (or create one if you don't have one already) and paste the serial number from SONAR into the Register Product Key field and click on Register Product Key. That will give you access to your 3 (or 1) ADpaks, MIDI paks and kit pieces. Use the XLN Online Installer to install and update AD2 (and Addictive Keys if you have that). Now, you can buy whatever MIDI paks you want on the XLN site and they will be available for d/l via the online installer.

This has been setup for months, I even tried to reenter the SN# and it was already entered into my account as I said above. that's what makes no sense. If it worked for others then it should just work. But I think I have had issues with AD1 and AD2 and the web site from the beginning. It may be a glitch.

Seems what I thought and how you describe it, I would think I could buy all the beats I want.

Thanks.

It would be nice if XLN would get back to me on this issue.

Is it AD or AD2 that is in your XLN account. Just asking in case you made a mistake. We got AD with one Sonar release then got AD 2 with another one along with 3 ad paks and drum paks.

Plat came with AD2, 3 beat paks and 3 drum paks and that's what I'm using. The XLN installer says AD 1 and 2 installed and up to date. The SN is registered for AD2 on the XLN site.

I wish they would at least get back to me. It's like what 3pm in Sweden? or is tech support in the U.S.? lol

thanks

edit:
But I kind of wonder if Cakewalk's AD2 versions is somehow different from XLN's version in some way.
