I was trying to use Drum Replacer today for the first time and when I opened it up I got the following pop-up dialog.

I tried resetting all my plugins and rescanning but all that every does is make my Melodyne plug-in not work and I have to rename it, start Sonar, rename it back.

Any suggestions?

Just try running the installer again. This time go to the location where the installers are kept and run it from there. Sonar should be set to Scan on Startup (see Preferences-> VST) scans are done in th background and after an initial scan only ever check for new plugins.
To find the installer,
go to the 'run' prompt. (Press Windows key +r) to bring up the run prompt
type in %appdata%
go to the Cakewalk/Command Centre/Downloads folder find the DrumReplacer installer, double click it to run.

This takes the CCC out of the equation.

Have you upgraded Platinum to Everett?  I think it needs the ARA improvements in Everett.

In C3 if you update all that is in the Sonar submenu that is yellow you still need to update Sonar itself. This is easy to overlook.

This means that you have not updated to the Everett update yet or have rolled back. DR will only works with the Everett update of Platinum or later since it relies on updates that were made in Everett. To resolve this update SONAR to the latest version in Command center.

If you update everything using the Command Center, you may still get a "demo" or "update this thing" dialog, but it will disappear after a moment (this happened to me). Take heart; all is well.

that's what the error message should've said...  and the dr installer should check for the correct version before installing...

Thanks for everyones replys. I will try to run the installer again. I definitely updated everything to the Everett release. The only Yellow icon I have is the tutorials.

I will try reinstalling and get back here soon.

It could well be that this is one of those occasions where a talk with Tech Support is the only real answer.

OK, I figured it out.

I had installed everything, I thought, but the command center confused me. I had not installed the Sonar Everett release because I thought the top level yellow icon was just telling me that something underneath was not installed. Even though I have done this 3 times now I was assuming that the Sonar yellow icon was more like a top level thing and not an item itself.

I have not had too many issues but command center seems to not be the most user friendly to me.

If they would make it not scan every time after you finish installing one item and make the top level LED thing just be a top level container, or install everything under when clicked, then I would be ok with it.

Thanks for everyones help.
