IDK about all those other tools and I now own the Concrete Limiter which is quite nice and easy to use but before that I was quite fond of the Blue Tubes limiter that was included in X3.
Maybe check that out if you haven't already because you may find it does what you need and you can toss your cash at something else. It has some simple presets and like most limiters is pretty basic to use. It's not harsh when it limits from what I remember. I don't crush things with limiters though. Just to raise levels and catch any potential overages on a master.
I do use the Concrete Limiter sometimes now to squish bass parts but I'm not sure I even really like doing that.
