Petagon fails to load because it cannot access HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\rgc:audio software\DXi\Pentagon I. Changing permissions on that key or running SONAR as administrator has been necessary for years..Personally, I prefer not to run programs as administrator. This image shows the mod required using regedit.

scook, u da man! Thx for the registry tip, Pentagon now runs fine w/o running CbB as admin.

I'm curious. Is there a reason to be careful about running programs as administrator?

 
I've understood it  so, that when you're running as an administrator many kinds of malware have a much easier access to the insides of the system. It's like an open door, the malware doesn't need to be a sophisticated one to use it. This is what I read many years ago, I don't know if things have changed in this respect.
