Hypocrita
Good morning everyone, I hope all is well on your end!

I've been noticing some strange things ever since I updated to the Everett release last night. Simply put, it's not allowing me to keep any kind of preference changes between sessions. For instance, I have a drum map that has outputs specified, but when I close and re-open, those outputs are lost and I'm left having to reassign the outputs. It's not really that time-consuming, but it's certainly annoying. I've also noticed that it won't save what clock settings I would like to use, always setting it back to the default of audio. Just within the past ten minutes, I can't get smooth visual playback of my project either, yet the audio plays just fine.
Is this an issue with the update itself, or do you think I've somehow done something on my end to cause these oddities?

Thanks for your time, and take care!

By "any kind of preference changes," do you literally mean ANY kind of preference changes, i.e., nothing persists? I'm not sure if clock settings ever persisted, but the drum map settings should.

Did you hit the scroll lock key?

As for preferences, those should be persisting. I think clock settings are saved with the project, so if you want a different default, you'd need to change your template project.
As for drum maps, I'm not aware of an issue there but we'll investigate.

Good morning Anderton and Keith!

Perhaps my wording happened to be too general, apologies for that. I did a small test on some of the preferences, and they appear to persist, so I would be incorrect to say that no preferences persist whatsoever.
It appears that the biggest issues are the drum maps and clock settings. The reasoning behind drums map I feel is obvious, but as for clock settings, I have that set a certain way so my interface doesn't cause everything on my computer to play slightly faster than they should.

I also suppose I should have been more specific about the visual oddity: essentially what had happened was when I hit play, the clock would jump a few seconds ahead instead of displaying actual time. The marker itself moved ever so slightly, but never to the right spot.
After a few re-openings, that seems to have cleared up, though, fortunately.

Thanks for taking the time to try to assist me! =-)

Sometimes, clearing out the Sonar Picture Cache folder will fix jerky redraw issues - Sonar will recreate the picture cache data if you clear that folder, so no bad things will occur from doing so.  :)

I haven't worked with drum maps for quite a long time (since Sonar 8.5.3), so hopefully others here will jump and assist with whatever issues with those you are experiencing.

Drum Maps just don't output anything for me, now I'm on Everett. I don't see the same problem as you with missing Output entries in the Drum Map Manager - there is just no MIDI making it through to the VSTi. Infuriating.

Hello everyone!

It's good to know that I'm not the only one experience issues with the drum maps. As for the visual oddities, it would appear that clearing out the cache did indeed solve that problem. Thanks for the tip, Robert E Bone!
Now I suppose we wait until the drum map issue gets cleared up. Considering Cakewalk's track-record, I'm sure they'll fix it shortly. =-)

Take it easy, everyone!

I have seen the problem where the screen refresh comes in bursts but the audio plays fine. I got there by accident when I opened 2 projects at the same time within Sonar. I don't have 1 project only selected in preferences but Sonar doesn't like 2 projects open at once on my system.

We now have several threads on the same issue.
