Hi there SONAR ppl! Need your help.
I have a problem with the latest update that every time I try to record something, most of the time using 'sound on sound' my other midi track tht is not armed for recording is being cut off. Is there any feature tht i misses or it's a bug? No problem with the last release or even X3. Anybody?

@alfabooty you should update your audio interface drivers and firmware first. If that does not work check to see if it is plugin specific. As a last resort you can change the midi engine (consult the Dorchester documentation).

Thanks! My AI driver is up to date & I am working totally with the build-in plugins (Vsti & vst). I think the midi engine over-ride should work. (hopefully)

To save somebody repeating themselves I am quoting from the other thread you posted.
Did it work?
And try checking your MIDI channels...

No bro. Nothing from the Dorchester documentation written about the midi cut off. If you referring to the cakewalk.ini, it is only for the bouncing operation.
What do you mean by checking MIDI channels? I never had to put any MIDI channel before while using TruePiano.
I think the best way is to revert back to the 'cambridge'. While waiting for a fix.
What a waste of a good update & money.

It's just truepiano? Try another synth.

Any synth. Either it is SI-bass, TruePiano or any other.  Sometime the cut off also happened on the MIDI track I am working/recording on. At first I thought the problem came from other VSTi like Kontakt, sampletank 3 or Reason. But after staring a new project with just vsti supplied by cakewalk, I still have the same problem.
All this are driving me nuts!.
BTW, this is not my 1st Cakewalk product. Been using Cakewalk since 1996.

When quantizing make sure the notes are longer.
Try with Echo on/off
Try increasing or reducing your buffers for playback:
Preferences -> MIDI -> Playback and Recording -> Prepare Using X millisecond buffers.
Make sure there are no other plugins getting in the way.

Tried all that & nothing is helping. Same problem.
No problem with the 'cambridge' release & Sonar X3. No setting required. What happen? Did I missed anything.

Hate to say it but it's working for me and this is the only report I'm seeing.
You will probably need to wait for further comments or contact support.

Thanks for the help BTW. Back to 'Cambridge' I will.
