Again, I'm new here so...........I am creating probably 6 or 7 mixdowns per week to wav and then to mp3 to email off to John the Collaborator(hmm, my "song filter" went to John the Revelator!). Whatever they do it is never worse than what I hear in the program. WACHOO guys think?

I'm not sure what the question is...?

What do you think of how well( or not) Sonar does the mixdown when exporting audio?

I find it to be an accurate copy of the mix, whatever that happens to be, what you hear is what you got........

So, what is the problem ? You want it to be worse sometimes ??

Maybe I should have said impressed instead of intrigued..then again, maybe I am easily impressed.

Right, yes I feel audio mixdown is good, exactly as expected. I guess I'm just not sure why you phrase it as if you are surprised. Have you had bad experiences before?

I have never had any problems with mixdowns. The problems I do have, is due to me lowering the output on the audio interface or things like that. Made me troubleshoot a bit before I realized that it was pilot error. Are you having issues / problems with your mixdowns? If so, what are they? Best of luck.

If it wasn't exactly what I heard, Sonar would be defective, as would any DAW that couldn't provide an accurate mixdown. Having said that, are there really any DAWS in 2015 that can't provide an accurate mixdown?

Dan

You will hear people claiming to hear differences in the mix engines among various DAWs, but realistically speaking, it's all about math and once you hit 64-bit (or even 32-bit float) processing, there's enough horsepower to do the job right.
