The issue is not if it has been double, triple, or amount of posts, but do hosts have a crystal ball of something that they think they are way better at weeding out bad ideas. If we had the hosts when Edison was around , we wouldnt have lights.
Just saying.

If a host is moving your post around or freezing a thread or something.. for no good reason.. then yup I get it. But if you are saying hosts shouldn't be able to comment ... Of course they should. They are paying customers as well.

I wish hosts would merge threads down there more, as every time somebody posts a similar thread that waters down somebody else's vote. They only seem to merge my threads for some reason.

With so many hosts available I don't see much work going on. If they aren't able to perform host duties effectively they should give it up and let somebody else have a go.

Take an example from me.

I've posted requests inside FR threads for merges that have been honored - pretty quickly too.

I wish people wouldn't get so riled up that they want to throw all of the hosts out with the bath water.

I would like to see FRs outside of the forum at some point.  The top 20 could be cleaned up, made into something closer to a set of requirements, then ranked by the user community.

Clearly defining the FRs is really important, IMO.  It's very easy for a general idea to evolve into something completely different (in the details) during implementation.  There's a reason business analysts are in high demand.  Good ones are anyway.

What sort of numbers would they consider before they thought they were worth it. I can see them picking some ideas they like that have a low vote level, whilst ones with much higher levels are ignored because it doesn't suit them.

I guess this would depend on other factors.  A popular FR that would cost 6,000 hours of development time would probably have less of chance than a collection of features that each have 1/10 the popularity, but only require 10 hours in aggregate to implement.

OTOH, if we were all willing to continue our memberships without regard for pricing, they would probably be willing to implement anything that reached the top of the heap.

That will be the case, of course - what and when is for Cake to decide.
But what is the alternative - Cake is clueless...

And some things may take a good couple of months, or maybe a year to implement - and will not be on "next" list until maybe a month or two before ready. I don't think it's smart to reveal too much too early.

What build trust in userbase, and sell mermberships, is probably - what is there in features and stability, and the history release notes - and hope for what will come. Not knowing exactly what will come on long term is the thrill, I think. What I saw in "next" list is completely "I don't care" - what give me hope is the "surprise" and the fixlist more than anything.

I find whiney hijacking of threads to complain about volunteers I've always found to be quite helpful and considerate to be much more disturbing when visiting threads... I came here to see what the issue is and had to wad thru a bunch of crap...Furthermore, they are members/users just like us and are entitled to have opinions.  If you believe in your idea, defend it rather than whine and run... Yoda would never do that!  Nor a real cowboy!

Just my 2 cents.

I think the suggestions forum is fantastic and I am quite sure the bakers are reflecting on our thoughts and ideas.  They most likely had a timeline of improvements already established and while many of the suggestions are excellent, we are totally ignorant of their workload and what's in the pipeline.  I say give it a year and then reflect.  bug fixes have been numerous and several nice improvements have arrived.

Enjoy it and appreciate the steady flow... I bet a number of our suggestions are being considered.

Please let's get back to the OP and not go off on some tangent about hosts. Let's just muster more support for a necessary but neglected part of the forum. If that's where Cakewalk got to see what we want then let's support it.

Please, if you have an issue about hosts then direct those comments to the hosts via a PM or complain to Cakewalk.

I too think more people should spend a bit of time voting and commenting on the suggestions... If we have 60 people thumbs upping an idea that's way more impressive.  Especially if it's my idea of toggling "show only tracks with data" in the mixer... yep... I need a couple hundred people voting that one up... I get frustrated with big templates with big empties...The hiding is laborious and just a click away if.... if.... YOU VOTED!

So, go vote... it's way cheaper than the "Deals" forum

I believe I have the right to voice (type) on the post from ampfixer. If you dont agree with what I typed , thats entirely up to you. I dont run from anything and it wasn't a whining post. If you dont like what I type then dont read it. There are more opinions then yours. Get used to it.

I am not yet qualified to vote. I'm still learning, and just taking it all in....
