Hi-

I think the level of helpfulness here is about the same as always (i.e., very high)! I think the "personality" of the SONAR forum has changed somewhat, though. I wasn't around when the forum hosts were first added and some of the subforums created. I'm not crazy about the tone/content of some of the forum hosts' posts, esp. when they say they like or respect certain members or particularly value their input, yada-yada, or argue ad infinitum a single point to make sure they're seen as "right."  It shouldn't matter whether a host "likes" or "respects" a forum member when they're applying the rules, IMO.

Maybe they're in an untenable position as members *and* hosts, but it seems to me they should try to be objective and leave out the subjective stuff, if possible.

I think you misinterpret the post I made. I know you have taken it out of context. Nor have you considered the outcome.

John-

I didn't single out anyone and I don't even know what post of yours you're referring to, so I couldn't have misinterpreted it or taken it out of context, let alone "considered the outcome," whatever that means.

Susan if I got it wrong I am sorry. What is clear is your post seemed aimed at my interchange with two members just above your post. Its position was unfortunate. It led to conclusions that were wrong.

Ok you opening points are picky. You made reference to the opening post, but he had not (ok I slipped and said all posts) but the point was he was surmising the thread, not the OP.

His pint was about not moving things, so I he said posts and so did I, but his point is clearly about not moving a judging, let members make their own conclusions.

And you didn't respond to this

"Where did you get the idea about loosing membership from that?"

You seemed to take an entirely subjective view on his post rather than respond his point. I didn't know Susan post was aimed at you, she didn't say. And here you seem to make this posters post about you, when your are part of a collection of hosts. She said about hosts being subjective, and here you are on one page making one posters post about you and saying you know what Susan is thinking and would have considered.

I'm baffled to be honest, maybe take a step back. We all need to from time to time.

Kamikaza  I'm baffled too by your not understanding my explanation.  So be it.

Apparently, there was no shift in the forums.  Alas!

Lol.   John, my post was not about you.   And yes, I meant "thread", not post.   Even some of my favorite moderators/hosts/deputies or whatever you/they are, have moved threads inappropriately, imo.   I don't usually remember or nurse a grudge about the individual, but I might vaguely remember their user name.     And then,  many of my less favorite moderators/hosts/deputies or whatever have spent a good deal of time showing why certain thread original posts are wrong, when it will eventually become clear enough whether that's correct or not.

To summarize on this particular derailment of the forum and this thread: why not let a problem report resonate as it may?   Whoever is an actual programmer of an important piece of audio software is probably also capable of being a forum-winnower, eliminating what is not relevant or not fixable from what might be of interest.   For you (the host/volunteer/moderator/deputy) to presumptively try to save their time, even if someone has asked you to do so, is a mistake.

Right.  I just thought we'd skip to third base.
