The difference between the Cubase forum and the Sonar forum:

Cubase forum:  People trying to solve problems, give or ask for information.
Sonar forum:    People trying to solve problems, give or ask for information in a sea of highschool drama.

Of course, the irony is that creating a post about high school drama is in itself an example of high school drama.

No it's not.  It's an accurate description of the differences.  It's information that you should find useful but apparently you don't.   It is one reason people don't take Sonar seriously.

Have you been to the Celemony forum ?
The moderators there examine and consider your post, and if deemed appropriate they will actually post it.
No all forums are alike, but I much prefer the wide open dialog exchange of this Sonar forum, where at least I have the choice to filter out the nonsense, and gather in the jewels of knowledge from the many generous contributors.

Maybe I have been too busy lately but for whatever reason, the posts I have been reading do not usually inspire me to participate and I don't know the reason for this.  It could be that the old fashion way I having been using SONAR is a different model than the newer users or just that pretty much many of the forum topics are starting to repeat.

I still browse our forum but haven't posted much lately.

My perspective to the original question,
Jim

Right, people don't take SONAR seriously because you make a sweeping opinion-based generalization that I consider as one data point out of many...from someone who claims not to use SONAR except to open legacy projects. That alone makes me wonder why you even bother to come here.

Feel free to have opinions, just don't expect everyone to think that yours is inherently more valid. As another poster said:

"What's wrong with a little humor and lively back and forth? I don't waste my time on boring forums. This is the public square, the equivalent of the Roman Forum. Let it flow, life is too short."

That's an opinion, too. It is no less valid than yours.

At the end of the day, this forum represents a single-digit percentage of SONAR users. You choose to be a part of it, and it is what the people posting here make it. It's your choice to insult them. Carry on.

Sorry, you're right but I just don't like it when someone who claims not even to use the program except in an extremely limited way insults the entire forum. Maybe he just hasn't noticed there are plenty of threads here where people try to solve problems, and give or ask for information.

Well, looks like things have shifted back to normal. ...

There is certainly "highschool drama" here sometimes, it's tough to deny it (though people being what we are, I find it hard to believe that any public forum is free of it). While it's true that one person's highschool drama is another person's "humor and lively back and forth", for me there's a reasonably clear delineation - and while I certainly appreciate the latter, I will admit to finding the former off-putting at times. I generally don't find it hard to steer clear of engaging in it directly, though doubtless someone could dredge up an example or two where I have succumbed... but sometimes I find myself wondering why on earth I am still following a thread that has basically fully devolved into tangents and catfights. However, sometimes even one of those will surprise me - lots of smart cool people here, and often someone finds a way to channel the drama into a useful observation...

Take a few deep breaths and actually read my post.

Has subtlearts just insulted the forum or is he giving useful opinions?
