IMO, there are several really good reasons.  First, I think the folks that had something to say have finally finished.  Then there are (in no particular order) alprazolam, lorazepam, diazepam, clonazepam and related medications, along with wine and other relaxants.

And...morphine, hopefully in an IT pump, so it drips into your spine 24/7 such as what is needed for scoliosis.

@Cactus - Yeah there should be a newbies forum, it can be intimidating for some.

I'm doing just fine here as a noob. I don't read the posts that are more advanced. The speed of the answer is phenomenal. my laptop took a dump so upgrading to an i5 desktop. More fun reinstalling everything

Then again, maybe some have just given up beating that dead horse. (ie Jerry, et al)

This. Either Mr. Ed is dead, he is in a coma as a result of a nasty staphylococcus infection.

Speaking as a regular, I have lost interest in this part of the forum.
I like helping new people start out and for some reason that has faded here.

We're picking up new users at a pretty good rate these days, so check back periodically. I think your contributions were always valued.

Some long time users have left because Cakewalk ignored their requests.

Bad time to leave as cakewalk have been listening really hard over the last few months and delivering. You can't instantly please all of the people though.

They haven't been listening to the people in the notation thread.

But those posters haven't gone away have they...!

Like I say you can't please all people. There's shed loads of other work to do with basic workflow, and delivering a satisfactory notation solution will take a lot of development time so I'm not surprised that it hasn't been tackled yet. They are doing it right. Tackle the core first then look at the layers of functionality on top.

You don't know the history.  People have been asking for 20 years.  It's not on any Cakewalk to do list.
