There's less traffic, the regulars aren't posting much (not sure why). And people are bored of bunfights.

There are fewer bugs in platinum but still there are enough for it to be of major concern. I think it's because people are seeing things fixed so don't have to be so vocal (more trust).

Alex you bought up Traffic and seeing bugs being fixed. Posters leaving because bugs aren't being fixed is part of the equation. If responding to your post is off topic, then it's because you took it there. :)

... is a direct response to the OP. It is totally on topic.
Just because I and the OP mentions eggs doesn't mean the whole topic has to be about a specific type of egg from then on for the entire thread.

I just realised it was a bad analogy... it's about the omelette and the people who eat them, and not about the eggs

Don't forget you wanted tea with that omelette, I guess you wanted that in a made with water for a kettle rather than a black pot.

You're having scrambled eggs I see...

Either way, you have to break the eggs...

I have a feeling if someone started a thread with pictures called "Kittens Using SONAR," someone would point out that none of the kittens were using staff view, because SONAR needs staff view improvements.

Anyway, rather than continue the never-ending conversation with those who see any topic as worth hijacking into an opportunity to talk about staff view, I'll once again re-iterate what I said at the beginning and give props to the community for contributing more tips and techniques, being very specific about the fixes they bring up, resurrecting threads with long-standing bugs to get mindshare, coming up with cool software accessories, and also, props to the Bakers for accelerating the rate of fixes.

Long time Sonar/forum user here.  I've never really had much interaction on the forum, started a few threads, commented on a few others, generally I like to read rather than discuss.  Also, working daily using several DAWs (multi platform) mean that I rarely have the time to interact, so apologies for that.

I think the maintenance of this forum has improved 100%; no more (or at least far fewer) spam threads clogging the place up, threads being moved to the appropriate place etc.  All very good work by the forum hosts and staff.

However, the over zealous and condescending nature of one or two of the forum hosts, and all the bickering about them is the main reason I stopped visiting as often as I have in the past several years.  I've no doubt that side of things have improved, I would hope so.

Looking around here today (not sure when I last visited) I can certainly see far more interesting and useful threads than before, so long may that continue!

I think Craig Anderton has had a great influence around here, from what I've seen he's the guy that keeps the place balanced.  Mostly
A few years ago, with the departure of the Robin Seth and Brandon, the forum lost it's mojo.  I do believe that under the parental guidance of Craig Anderton, the forum has gradually been regaining it.

"Kittens Using SONAR,"

That's the sort of thread I have been know to start in the forum discussion forums... believe me it doesn't work out. Nevermind it's not the end of the world.
