There has been a shift in the forums. More facts, less fun. Many of the guys that helped me get going have left or been run off. Too much nonsense with changing identities and moderators with agendas.

This is still a place where you can learn lots, but it's simply not fun anymore.

Which host has an agenda?

I think he said moderator not host.

I think the forum is still fun as well as being helpful.

I am, however, working on a program that will auto-reply to every post with a comment about Staff View.  Once I get that running, I will start work on an automatic which-DAW-is-best thread generator.

Sounds like you made a single payment for the upgrade.  I'm pretty sure if you upgraded to Plat, you also paid for a years worth of 'membership'.    Check your store account ...

You're right, I did, though to be honest I had kind of forgotten....

I see that Allston is available in the CC.  Like I said, I haven't updated yet and really haven't been interested in doing so.  My system has been fairly stable, but I read a few problem reports that made me hesitate.  I guess the updates are not cumulative, you install each one in order?

Updates are cumulative. I provided a detailed reply to your other post http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3222816

Well I know who I am. I never wanted to go down that path to be honest but c'est la vie. You do what you have to do in order to be taken seriously if only temporarily. Might be time for another persona change to be honest.

Were you forced onto the path of logging in as a different user?

Why did you feel the need to change the name of your previous login ("CakewalkAlex", and then renamed "Splat")?

Is that really life?

Did it help you be taken more seriously?

Anyhow - I have noticed a positive change within the forum.  I used to post a lot, but found the forum became more confrontational, and about dominant/ overbearing personalities.

I do still miss the days of Seth Perlstein and Brandon et al, but think the forum is returning to the "feel" it had then - much of this due to Craig's involvement, perhaps.

There are still a few (small number) overbearing/vociferous posters (and some "Hosts"), but far fewer than most forums, I am sure.

All in all, I think the forum is becoming a more productive and friendly place to be, again.
