Hey Folks--

I thought I had all the shortcuts on my handy, and yes, dandy laminated sheet of X2/3 shortcuts, but alas, nay.

I'm looking for the shortest method of opening the synth rack, populated with all the soft synths in the project--you know.

Right now, I have to open a track with a soft synth in it, and then open just that single soft synth. I want rack view, man!

Thanks,

Stephen

Another somewhat questionable design choice, but it's now part of "Browser", default key command B.  (which doesn't work for me ... o well) ... Main menu - Views - Browser.   Then it's one of the tabs there.

The "View the Synth Rack" function is exposed but has no shortcut by default. Go into Preferences > Customization > Keyboard Shortcuts, look for the function in the Global area and create the custom binding of your choice.

Yeah now. Since you mentioned the browser view, that's where I've seen it before, but thought maybe I just missed the shortcut key.

I will create one because I need it more than I thought, until I couldn't find it--I'm sure you know what I mean.

Thanks,

I keep the browser/synth rack option open in the multidock and just click on the Browser tab when I need it. I don't really use the browser for much else so find this the easiest way to get to it when required.

I mapped the exposed shortcut to Ctl-Alt-S, which was blank (if memory serves). There are however totally unused single keys like U, O and Y, as well as various punctuation marks, so the choice is yours!

Yeah, this is what I did. I must have docked the synth rack view previously because when I got home to start my key mapping, all I did was hit B and boom, there was the rack view in a tab in the multi-dock--so that was cool.

Just when I thought the multidock couldn't get any handier ... thanks for making me see the obvious  :)

I use the "I" for Inspector, and "B" for browser almost instinctively after I found out about these shortcuts. Makes for easy browsing and "inspecting". I have to tweak the saturation knob on my main monitor / inspector view, so it saved me a lot of time
