I own a relick athlon system wit a q-10. Looked into upgrading and it is pretty much pointless as the q-10 will not function with a duel core system. With no driver updates or support you're dead in the water. That being said, the pres are still some of the best out there in that price point. I am planning on limping my system through for a little longer and upgrading the whole rig. I will then keep my old Q-10 athlon system for the preamps and perhaps use it as a mix down system or what ever. I do infact have it running nicely with Sonar 8.3.1. Good luck and start saving for the new i7.

I already have the i7!   I posted just in case someone who can't afford to update right now and needs more inputs wants another Q10.  It did run great on my Athlon XP 1800.  I could do about 25 tracks with several plugins. It really is a great sounding card.

Still using my Q-10 here and it's still working just fine. Sometime, when finances will allow, I'm gonna update to get more inputs. Right now, I'm thinking along the lines of an Echo audiofire 12 (I don't need the preamps). It seems to be the most cost effective way to get more than 8 analog ins, I just hope it will sound as good as my Q-10 and be as reliable as my Q-10.

Rod,
If you want an extra Q10 send me a private message.

Don't think there's any way to reliably run 2 of them together. I suppose it's time to move forward in time anyway. (like I said, when I can afford to, anyway)
I'd love to get an RME fireface 800 but too much $$$$. I keep hearing good stuff about the Audiofire 12, which would give me 12 ins, I'm just worried it may not sound as good as the Q-10.
I've always been curious as to why no one ever advertises the Echo stuff. You never hear anything about it. Very few places sell it. Reviews are VERY rare. I'd hate to buy into another company that goes under and leaves all it's products orphaned like Aardvark did.

Do you still have the q-10? If so I am interested. My email is o1circle0@aol.com. That unit will work on any 32 bit system up to windows XP, the only problem I have with mine is the fact Sonar after 2.2 at least up to 4 has issues with it, period.  In my opinion Sonar is the problem, not the Aardvark drivers or XP. Actually, I can and have proved it.

I wouldn't invest anymore in it. Eventually you will want to upgrade to Windows 7 and there are not drivers for it.

So is there a snowball's chance that a Q10 will work with Sonar Producer 8.5? I just upgraded to Sonar from Audacity (that should give you an idea as to where I'm at in the evolutionary process) but it can't seem to 'see' the Q10. Any suggestions?
