Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately, "Show Durations in Drum Grid" is greyed out and I cannot select it.

You probably have done this already but double check you instrument definitions and reset set each midi channel to its appropriate fantom channel.  Note that I have had to do that in the past but not thus far with Platinum.

Also double check your midi input on the fantom as maybe that is set to only input on channel 10.

If both are ok maybe you have a corrupted file.  Does this problem happen on all of your songs or only this one?

Happens on all song, past, present and future.
if its a drum patch-- as defined by Instrument Definitions-- its diamonds. Otherwise its normal PRV.
Strangely, this is fine on my Proteus 2000 with instrument definitions also containing drum patches.

Get rid of the instrument definition

Haha. Very funny.

Then i'll have thousands of patches in my Fantom XR neatly labelled and organized from 000-9999
Or I could just downgrade to Sonar 8.5!!
What is happening is that Sonar somehow sniffs that this is a drum patch, therefore force PRV to drum grid always.

Show  "Show Durations in Drum Grid" is greyed out when the drum pane is hidden.
Let us know what is ticked in the View menu of the PRV.
Under edit -> Preferences -> Drum Map Manager let us know if there are any values here.

I have no idea why you're getting this result, outside of it being an INS thing, but does this still happen even if the MIDI track's channel is not set to 10?

This ^

So I assume Show/Hide Drum Pane is unticked...

Make sure you are on Dorchester.

Try this...
Under screensets tick "revert current screenset"
Also try creating a brand new screenset.

Also try this:

Another thing to do is create a bundle file and extract that project from the bundle file. It might clear something.

If the above doesn't work lets try to isolate the problem.  Take all of the tracks and reroute them to another synth.  Do all of the tracks play properly?  If so it is not your song file.  If they don't then you have a corrupted file.

If they sound ok then start a new fantom instrument definition but only put in one definition.  Assign a sound that is present in your song.  Route the track from the above other synth to the new fantom definition.  Does it work?  If yes the problem is your definitions.  If not then the problem is with the fantom.

Good luck.
