Anyone knows of a program that would take a MIDI sequence and make it readable in human form?
I have a few MIDI sequences that will not open in SONAR yet, they will play in Windows Media Player. I'm looking at a program that says it can convert MIDI sequences into CSV or Word format and want to know if there are other similar programs.

Hello let's see if I can clarify a few things I used the term "open" I was generally speaking, to mean load, open, import, drag and drop, right click and choose, all mean the same thing to me and yes I have tried all these. When I do open the files in question SONAR crash still some I can preview in SONAR others if I preview them that would crash SONAR too.
As to posting into original it's no longer and important how many post I have and this is keep it neat. Thanks slartabartfast of for the typo.
"Readable in human form" you know how you can open a sfz file in notepad this is readable in human form if you open a MIDI sequence in notepad what you see would not be readable in human form. An internet search turn up some really old programs XP, Vista and older, the program I am referring to is open source and still under development.  So I thought maybe somebody in this community would know of such a program.

I don't think I quite understand the question. I assume any DAW shows MIDI events in some kind of a Event List,
where you can read details of MIDI events in plain words, if that's what you mean. Do you mean a similar thing, but a standalone version?

So a Solfège converter?

Spend a few more words, and let us know what you are trying to do. As noted previously, almost any MIDI editor or sequencer, like Sonar, will let you see the MIDI events in a MIDI file in readable form. Many will make a valiant attempt to display them in standard music notation.

I am confused by the OP as well. For any MIDI track the Piano Roll View and Staff View are quite useful. I am not sure if the event list was the OP's intent, but that also is useful.

I think the key to the OPs question is "it will not open in Sonar yet".
Why won't it "open"? Have you tried importing it?

Yes, but that wasn't there when the above answers were written. The original post included only the first
sentence of the post.
It would have been better to give the explanation as new post instead of adding it to the original one.
This makes the first answers look stupid.

Ah the classic edit your post switcharoo. Before the OP did not look like what he was talking about, now it looks like he does and nobody else knows what they are talking about! Suffered that one on multiple occasions... we better get back to quoting

I am still confused by what "readable in human form" means. Perhaps you want to turn it into sheet music? In comic sans?

How are you trying to "open" them in Sonar? Unless Sonar is set as the default MIDI player for your Windows installation just clicking the file icon will open them in that default player. The best way to get the file into Sonar is to use File>Import>MIDI, to import it into a MIDI track. You can also use the browser or drag and drop. If doing that does not work, is there an error message?

What are you planning to do with a MIDI event list in MS Word  or CVS[sic] (I assume you mean comma separated values=CSV) format?
