Hello,

Just wanted to know if I can setup a chain of plugins in the FX Bin by default for every new track I create?

Thank You,
Adam

You should be able to do that with a track template.  I have a track template set up for Guitar Rig for example.

this is true - however, until they fix the bug with track templates - i can't use them.  For some reason they lose the ability to automap synth parameters,  im waiting for the bakers to look into the issue.  Thank you though!

If the problem with track templates is with synths why does that stop you working with track templates and fx plugins. They work fine for me and save heaps of time.

im not quite sure i understand what you said here.

There is a known issue that when you use a track template, then you open up an automation lane - the parameters for the softsynth are missing...  makes it unusable for me

It's because your were asking about FX... not synths. Save your track template with the desired FX in the bin (or in the ProChannel), load it as needed. Synths don't factor into the equation. If there is a problem with synths loading in templates then that is a different issue. Haven't encountered that but I don't really use TT for synths.. yet.

You can of course create FX Chains and/or ProChannel presets as well. Then you can load what you need, when you need it without track templates which is how I usually do things (ie: manually set up the project as I go and load my PC/FX presets as needed).

Exactly - I get what you are saying... about saving FX Bins via Track Templates... however, I avoid track templates because of its issues with automating softsynths.  That's all :)

Fingers crossed there will be fixes next month bakers have been working on track template issues.

The automation parameters don't display because the track template does not save the "Display Automation On" parameter.  There is no way for a track template to know which track is going to be created when loading in a new project.  So, it appears that the developers decided that track templates will always leave the automation track unassigned rather than possibly assigning the automation to an incorrect track.

I know scook has already stated the workaround in http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3128136 but as a reminder for others:

1. Undock the Browser
2. Click the Synth tab
3. Click the Show/Hide Assigned Controls button to display the controls containers
4. Right click in one of the empty control containers to display the context menu
5. Select "Display Automation On" option and click the track that should display the automation in the submenu
6. The Edit Filter from selected track in Step 5 should now display the automation parameters for creating an envelope.

This procedure works on my system and doesn't require creating any assigned controls on the Synth tab of the Browser.
