I am using X3e and am really frustrated with editing clip envelopes.

First, I find that shift-click doesn't activate the existing envelope like it used to.  It will deactivate the envelope, but not activate it.

Second, I can't for the life of me select a node.  I have tried the Smart Tool and the Select to and even lassoing the node.  Nothing seems to work.  I can initially select a region of the clip and increase or decrease the gain on a gain envelope for that region, but then I can't go back and edit that envelope.

What the heck am I doing wrong or what is it that I am missing?  In X1, I used to be able to do this with no problem.  I have looked in the online documentation, and can't find what is a workable procedure.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just took a look at this. I don't seem to have any problem.

I am going to guess that when you say activate/deactivate in regard to the envelopes, you mean giving or taking away focus, or in other words selecting or deselecting the envelope...not actually causing the envelope to no longer function in - for instance - controlling the volume or panning. To deactivate volume would mean all the sound comes out at recorded levels, or to deactivate panning might cause all instruments to play centered in the stereo spectrum. Just so we are talking about the same thing.

I normally don't use the click-shift to activate/deactivate (select/deselect) an envelope, but this worked when I tried it in a track. Using the smart tool, it changes to look like a capital letter "I" when over the track. If I shift-click while over an existing non-active envelope, the envelope became selected. If I shift-click elsewhere on the track OR right-click while on the envelope, the envelope became deselected. NOTE: This is not exactly the same for bus envelopes: For them, I needed to right-click as above to deselect, or set the Edit Filter drop-down to "None". Clicking on the bus did not take focus away from the envelope.

On tracks and busses, I was able to add nodes by placing the cursor on the envelope and left-clicking. I could move single nodes in amplitude and timing by placing the cursor on the node (cursor then becomes the four-arrow move tool) and left-click-hold and drop where I want it. Snap-to-grid applies here. I could move segments by ctrl-left-click-hold and drag 'n' drop.
